first dentist appointment

You went to the dentist for the first time today. It was hard for your mom to find a dentist to see you. Apparently, most dentists don't see children less than a year old. But the pediatrician wanted you seen so finally a dentist agreed.

While your mom filled out paperwork you helped MeMaw take pictures. We're using just the little point and shoot camera but wow my photos look waaaay different when you help me. I can't say they improve. Oh don't cry, ok, they're just different. But I guess that's what happens when you try to take a picture with your arm out straight, out of the reach of baby, the other arm wrapped around baby to keep him on your lap, and you poke the button without being able to line up the shot, all because baby really wants camera.

But MeMaw really wanted to somehow show your first dentist visit so, wiggly baby and all she managed at least a semblance of a photo record.

Somehow while my hand was doing a figure eight, avoiding your little fingers I managed to set this one up pretty good (for not being able to see the LCD). You aren't smiling but I like to think you are trying to show your bottom teeth.

I was surprised that huge mouth on the wall didn't make you cry. It made me want to cry and run from the waiting room. Each tooth was about as big as your head! Who has a mouth that big?!

You will be happy to know that your face is not rotting off. Nope, you are a-okay. That one little baby tooth is simply discolored, probably from too much of a mineral at the time the tooth was developing. So chances are good that when your permanent tooth comes in, it won't be affected. In the mean time, when is peeks its little shadow self out in future photos we'll just have PaPaw photoshop it back white.
